The Rare Breeds Centre is proud to be the only one in Kent, and is approved by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST) as a conservation farm park. Our Animal Welfare License number is 291662.
The RBST works to secure the future of our rare and native breeds of farm livestock. It monitors rare and native farm breeds. Every year, the RBST collects data from breed societies, and uses the number of animals registered in a year to estimate the total number of breeding females. From this they produce their annual watchlist.
As you explore our different categories of animals by clicking on the inks below, keep an eye out for this icon showing which of our breeds are registered with the RSBT as an at-risk population.
