Native to Pakistan, India and Afghanistan the Leopard Gecko is found where it is dry and rocky. They are quite a large gecko reaching a length of 20-27cm (8-10inches) and weigh 45-65g. Unlike most geckos, they possess eyelids. The ability to detach its tail if attacked allows it to escape a predator and it can grow a new tail almost immediately. They are a ground-dwelling and nocturnal insectivore, feeding on live crickets and mealworms. Adult females will lay up to 2 eggs, up to 6 or 8 times in a breeding season.
