Found in dry, rocky areas, they are excellent climbers. They will often bask on branches and rocks during the morning and evening, but go underground to escape the heat at the hottest part of the day. Adults weigh 350-600g and can grow to 41-56cm in length; the tail being over half the total length. They are omnivores; eating fruit, vegetables, insects and some very small mammals.
